Who will my consultation be with?
You consultation will be with the soonest available consultant. Both Teresa and Eleanore are qualified trichologists at MIT status and are experienced in diagnosing hair and scalp conditions.
Can I take a friend in with me during my consultation?
All consultations are for the individual patient being assessed only, this means our consultants can diagnose in the most open and trusting environment. If a patient is under the age of 16 or has a disability or language barrier that needs assistance and would otherwise prevent the most accurate information being shared during consultation then an assistant or parent may accompany the patient.
How long will my consultation last?
Consultations normally last between 45 and 60 minutes to allow enough time for our consultants to assess a number of areas of your health, styling history, medical history and to examine your hair and scalp. The difference in the duration of a consultation is dependent on how much case history needs to analysed.
If you are held up and know you will be arriving late, please call the clinic in advance for advice on whether it is worthwhile to still attend or to amend your booking for another day.
How much will it cost?
All first time consultations cost £109. If you have been to the clinic before but it has been more than 6 months since your last treatment or product purchase you will be asked to book in for a re-consultation to reassess your case history and advise on any changes to your condition.
Do I need to pay for my consultation in advance?
We don't take payment for any consultation or treatment in advance, but we do ask you to commit to a £25 reservation fee when you book your consultation. This fee is deducted from the end price of your visit. However, this is non-refundable if you do not attend your booking or cancel within 24 hours.
What treatments are available?
Our treatments adapt to each of our patients needs but may include high frequency therapy, medicated shampoos, hair masks or scalp treatments, light therapy and 3rd party referrals.
How long do the treatments last?
Treatments last between 50 and 90 minutes dependent on the treatment required and length/density of hair.
Will my hair get wet during a treatment?
Our treatments always include a washing phase so, yes, the hair will get wet.
Will my hair be styled after my treatment?
Hair will be combed through and left wet following a treatment. For patients with enough length, the hair will be plaited into a maximum of two loose plaits complimentary.
Do I need to pay for multiple treatments in advance?
We will never ask you to pay for treatments upfront or in blocks. We assess you hair and scalp condition during each treatment and advise accordingly for future bookings. There is never any pressure to block book treatments at the clinic or commit to more than you are comfortable with.
How quickly will I see results?
This is a question often asked but one which we never commit to answering as each patient is an individual with a unique case history. What you can be assured of is that we will always manage your expectations, give honest advice about the reality of your recovery and assist you with long term and sustainable progress. We never promise a "miracle" quick fix, instead we aim for education, progress and confidence.
Do you only treat Afro hair?
Our consultants have studied and are trained in the diagnosis and treatment of all hair types and scalp conditions, after all hair, no matter what ethnicity, is still hair.
However, they also benefit from drawing on particular experience and expertise in treating Afro hair and scalp conditions which require a greater knowledge of styling practices and cultural history associated with this hair type.
What products do you recommend I use?
Our trichologists have formulated a range of products that we exclusively use at the clinic are part of our treatments and therapies. Using ingredients that are plant derived wherever possible, of aromatherapy grade and made up in small batches to benefit from freshness.
Whilst there may be equivalent products on the market, we do not use them in our clinic and therefore do not comment on other brands.
How much do your products cost?
Our products start from £11 and are available to purchase in clinic, online or over the phone.
Can you send products to me?
We can post out to you with a postage and packaging fee dependent on package size within the UK. Delivery outside of the UK will require a DHL delivery charge to be added to your order and will be dependent on delivery being available in your country. We currently do not ship to the US.
